India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is set to make his return to competitive cricket in the Indian Premier League after three months out injured.
Bumrah, 31, the world’s top-ranked Test bowler, injured his back during the fifth Test against Australia in early January and has not played since, missing England’s white-ball tour to India and the Champions Trophy.
India play England in a highly anticipated five-Test series starting on 20 June, with Bumrah expected to be crucial to the tourists’ chances.
Bumrah’s IPL head coach Mahela Jayawardene said he is available for Mumbai Indians’ match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Monday.
“He’s training today and should be available,” said Jayawardene, whose side have lost three of their four matches this season.
