Atalanta are set to allow Ben Godfrey to leave the club for a return to the Premier League in January.
It is understood the Serie A side are open to loan offers for the centre back, who moved to Italy in the summer for around £11million.
Godfrey, 26, joined Atalanta from Everton but has found his first-team opportunities limited since his arrival, making four substitute appearances so far.
The defender, who has two England caps, could now make a return to these shores when the transfer window re-opens with at least four Premier League teams showing an interest in Godfrey.
Nottingham Forest and Wolves are understood to be among the clubs keen on the ex-Norwich star.
Godfrey has extensive Premier League experience from his time with Everton and Norwich which will be viewed as a key attraction for this side’s with an interest.
