Mike Tyson has admitted to ‘blanking out’ during the Jake Paul fight and told reporters he could hardly remember the fight.

The 58-year-old starred in Netflix’s first boxing event, taking on influencer-turned-boxer Paul, who is 30 years his junior, at AT&T Stadium in November.

Tyson – who suffered a unanimous decision loss in a lackluster eight-rounder – has said he can’t remember anything about the fight after the first round.

Speaking to Fox Sports Radio, Tyson said: ‘I don’t remember the fight that much, I kind of blanked out. I haven’t watched the fight back.

‘You know what I remember… coming back from the first round and Jake was doing some sort of bow… that’s the last thing I remember.’

He added: ‘I wasn’t tired, I wasn’t sweaty. I went to the house we were staying in, I left the house with my wife and kids, went to the after-party then went back.’

The 27-year-old Paul easily defeated the 58-year-old Tyson on Netflix as the former heavyweight champion landed only 18 punches.

Later the YouTuber-turned-boxer said that he held back against Tyson because he ‘didn’t wanna hurt someone that didn’t need to be hurt.’

Many were surprised the fight was even sanctioned after it was initially delayed in June when Tyson suffered an ulcer flareup on a cross-country flight.

Tyson revealed shortly after the fight that he nearly died on that plane and ultimately had eight blood transfusions as he recovered from the incident.

‘This is one of those situations when you lost but still won,’ he said on X. ‘I’m grateful for [Friday] night and have no regrets about getting in the ring one last time.

‘I almost died in June; I had eight blood transfusions. I lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

‘To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for.’

When asked to reflect on a fight at a pop-up event in Miami, Tyson also said: ‘Magically. It just happened so quick. Eight round were over fast. I wasn’t tired. I wasn’t sweating. I didn’t understand that.’

However, Tyson’s son Amir had a different opinion – saying: ‘His gas tank after the third round was just shot. That’s all it was. He just kept on staying throughout. He did his best. No holding back, he did the best he could at his age.’

In a separate interview, Amir admitted he was proud of his father for stepping into the ring against a much younger competitor.

‘I was very proud,’ he said. ‘But yes of course I was worried. ‘I knew he wasn’t going to get knocked down or out because he can take those punches.

‘But, at the same, Jake is younger, faster, and bigger – when you get older your cardio diminishes,’ Amir added.

‘But he did it better than any 58-year-old, he went the distance and I am proud as hell of what he did. It was like a Rocky XI moment.

‘Most athletes finish and retire into the sunset, but for him to remain this relevant, for so many generations – it shows you everything,’ Amir continued. ‘I am very proud.’

It has been estimated that Tyson made around $20million from the rescheduled fight, which was initially due to take place in July but was postponed due to an ulcer flare-up suffered by the iconic boxer.
