- Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will face each other in Texas on Friday night
- Paul, 27 has been mocked for fighting opponents who are much older than him
Paddy Power have released an advert brutally mocking Jake Paul just days before he enters the ring to fight former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson.
Paul, 27, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, is due to face Tyson, who is 31 years his senior, in Texas on Friday night, with the fight due to be streamed live on Netflix.
The bout has been heavily criticised by some fans not happy that Paul has brought Tyson out of retirement, 19 years after his last professional fight.
It is not the first time that Paul has been criticised for his choice of opponents, having previously taken on a handful of ageing UFC stars rather than legitimate boxers since stepping into the ring for the first time back in January 2020.
Now, Paddy Power have teamed up with ex-world champion Tony Bellew for an advert titled ‘Finding Jake Paul’s next opponent’, and the search doesn’t appear to have been particularly extensive.

Ex-world champion Tony Bellew has teamed up with Paddy Power to mock Paul for picking opponents who are much older than him
Bellew was filmed training pensioners and pretending that they could be Paul’s next opponent
The advert shows Bellew training a number of elderly men in his gym, after claiming his nan told him there were ‘a right few hard nuts in her retirement home’.
He follows up by joking that the talent level among the pensioners is ‘brutal’ as the men tap away at the punchbag at a pedestrian pace.
Paul has repeatedly called out Mexican legend Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, but one 70-year-old man in the clip insisted he was ‘just as likely’ to get his hands on Paul.
The controversial American has also made a name for himself with his trash talk and use of social media.
One pensioner tried to go back at Paul by claiming the energy drink Prime ‘tastes like crow’s p***’, before Bellew reminded him that was actually a beverage owned by Jake’s brother, Logan.
Quick as a flash, the man replied: ‘Both c**** to be fair.’
The video continued with one of Paul’s potential opponents struggling to even get into the ring, but Bellew still labelled the ageing men as ‘warriors’ before declaring: ‘Jake Paul, we are coming for you!’
Paddy Power and Bellew have made it clear what they think about Paul facing Tyson, but the bout is still set to go ahead, as long as Tyson passes his fight week medical tests.
Paul will be looking to move to 12-1 after losing for the first time against Tommy Fury last year, while Tyson is intent on proving he’s still got it despite spending the best part of two decades away from the squared circle.
