Erik ten Hag‘s side are said to have identified the player as somebody who could add depth to their squad.
If the deal goes ahead then the new signing could replace a player who is out of favour at Old Trafford.
United have had a mixed start to the season and are currently in tenth place in the Premier League.
There remains uncertainty over ten Hag’s long-term future but United are still planning ahead in terms of recruitment.

As reported by The Sun, United are monitoring Sunderland goalkeeper Anthony Patterson.
United are looking to bring in a new second-choice goalkeeper to provide competition for Andre Onana.
Turkey international Altay Bayindir has made just two appearances for United since joining last year.
