- Rose Namajunas beat Tracy Cortez in Denver on Sunday
- Fans wondered why Cortez was wearing accessory
Fight fans have been left stunned by the incredible moment former two-time strawweight champion Rose Namajunas punched a fake eyelash off her opponent Tracy Cortez.
Namajunas notched up her second straight win at 125 pounds on Sunday (AEST) in the main event at UFC Denver, displaying all the skills that made her a champion.
It was the first loss for Cortez inside the octagon – and one dramatic moment from the bout has gone viral.
Early on in the fight, Cortez was rocked by a left hook from ‘Thug Rose’, followed up by a right cross that grazed her face and sent her fake eyelash flying across the ring.
As expected, MMA fans were quick to notice the detail and jumped onto social media to point it out.
‘False eyelashes in the octagon? I wore them to my son’s wedding but…’ posted one fan.
‘LOL why is she even wearing fake eyelashes during a fight?!!’ posted another.
‘I can’t take this seriously anymore, the rest of the fight is all about trying to knock off the other one now. There’s nothing else that matters,’ joked a third.

Things didn’t improve much for Cortez from there onwards, with Namajunas controlling the fight for the following 25 minutes and winning by decision.
It has been a trying week for Cortez, who was forced to take drastic measures to make weight after missing on the first attempt.
The 30-year-old did not hesitate to chop off heir long hair to get under the 126-pound limit on Friday, after earlier missing weight by half a pound.
‘No hesitation,’ Cortez told Sportsnet afterwards. ‘I’m going to do whatever it takes.’
It did the trick, as she officially weighing in at 126 pounds on the dot. Cortez then posed for the cameras, clipped hair in hand.

Speaking to the media after the bout, Namajunas spoke about a potential flyweight title shot.
‘I had this vision, I want to fight in Lithuania one day,’ Namajunas said, referring to the country her parents were born in.
‘Bring the UFC to Lithuania, and I would love to rematch Manon [Fiorot] or anybody for the belt, whatever.
‘That’s my dream come true, but anything that the UFC has in mind, I’m cool with as well.’
