Kevin Holland sealed a brutal stoppage win via an armbar as he appeared to injure the arm of opponent Michal Oleksiejczuk

  • He picked up the win in gruesome fashion with the referee forced to stop it

Kevin Holland notched a submission win on Saturday night over Michal Oleksiejczuk in extremely gruesome fashion, injuring his opponent’s arm at UFC 302 in New Jersey before celebrating with former US President Donald Trump.

Holland, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt, used his experience to sprawl and eventually transition into an arm bar.

And while the American was yelling at his opponent – seemingly warning him about a possible broken arm – Oleksiejczuk refused to submit and referee Herb Dean was forced to step in.

Oleksiejczuk’s arm appeared to be on the verge of snapping after it was brutally yanked on by Holland, who had to reposition several times.

Incredibly, he complained about Dean’s stoppage at first but eventually seemed to respect it eventually.

Officials immediately went to check on the arm of the Pole as Holland celebrated his victory.

Surprisingly, the first person Holland went to celebrate his victory with wasn’t anyone from his team, but Trump at ringside.

The two shook hands and shared some words before Holland also shook the hand of UFC president Dana White.

After the fight Holland said: ‘When I first put him in the armbar, I heard the pop and after that it wasn’t popping again and I was like, I’m going to have to do a full-on break.

‘The guy is tough as nails, he hit me with a good shot… I wasn’t hurt at all, he simply hit me with a good shot and I was moving at the same time.

‘I’m 6 foot 2, but my arms are long like I’m seven feet tall, so I’m a bit clumsy sometimes. So I fall over, they come on top and they get subbed. It’s good for me.’

He also revealed that he aplogised to Trump when he spoke to the former president.

Holland said: ‘I just apologized because the first time I hopped out of the cage when he was there I didn’t speak to him. No disrespect to anybody ever, the person who signs my checks is usually the first person I talk to and Dana and Hunter sign my checks.’

Holland’s brutal win also attracted the attention of the MMA world on social media.

Michael Bisping at first insisted that the Polish fighter didn’t tap, before adding: ‘I ain’t taking nothing away from Kevin though, ain’t his job to ref. Solid win.’

Former MMA champion Jason Miller commented: ‘Holy arm snap,’ while Diana Belbita suggested that armbars ‘should be banned’.

Derek Brunson said: ‘If Dr Rogan says the arm is broken. Dammit the arm is broken.’
