St Helens secured their first Super League title eight years after seeing off 12-man Wigan 14-6 in the Grand Final at Old Trafford.

Warriors prop Ben Flower was sent off for punching Lance Hohaia less than two minutes into the match, with the Saints playmaker going off injured.

Wigan were 6-2 ahead at the break thanks to Joe Burgess’ try and Matty Smith’s goal, with Mark Percival replying with a penalty.

However, St Helens’ numerical advantage eventually told with tries from Sia Soliola and Tommy Makinson wrapping up the win.
