London Broncos may be saved from the threat of administration after being applying for another 10 business days to safeguard their future.
The Super League club previously announced they would appoint administrators if a deal did not materialise to rescue them.
While the original deadline of December 3 had been given, the club now want extra time to work with interested parties.
A statement issued on behalf of the club read: “Negotiations to cement a permanent home for London Broncos and fulfil next season’s fixtures are at a positive stage.
“The club will be instructing its lawyers to file a further Notice of Intention to Appoint Administrators at Court, which shall be effective for 10 business days. During this time the club are hopeful that a deal can be concluded in order to ensure the club’s future.”
The Broncos announced in September they would leave Twickenham Stoop after their deal to play at the venue expired at the end of the 2013 season. They are currently without a home but are due to play their opening 2014 fixture at Widnes on February 16.
